Warriors stars Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala drop massive Bitcoin announcement

Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Bitcoin

The Golden State Warriors are on a redemption campaign this season, as they look to regain their status as the best team in the NBA. They also got a huge boost recently as well, with the return of Klay Thompson to the active roster after spending over 900 days hibernating and recovering from devastating lower-body injuries.  But the shooting guard’s comeback isn’t the only big news involving the former Washington State Cougars hotshot.

Recently, Thompson made splashes, not only from deep but also via a massive announcement on Twitter, saying that he’s in on the Bitcoin wagon.

“I’m BACK and changing it up: excited to take part of my paycheck in bitcoin thanks to Cash App,” the Warriors stars reveal.  “I’m with bitcoin because I believe it’s the future of money,” Thompson adds. “Plus I’m giving out $1M in btc with @andre right NOW. Just follow @CashApp + drop your $cashtag below w/ #PaidInBitcoin”

Also in the same wagon is Thompson’s teammate, veteran forward Andre Iguodala. Like Thompson, the 37-year-old former NBA Finals MVP is now receiving part of his salary in the form of bitcoins.

“I’m excited to announce I’m taking part of my salary in BITCOIN w. Cash App, Iguodala announces on his official Twitter account.  “Bitcoin is the future, @klaythompson  and I are both believers. To make bitcoin more accessible, we’re giving out $1M in bitcoin back to fans today,” Iguodala adds. “ Drop your $cashtag w. #PaidInBitcoin & follow @CashApp”

Klay Thompson has a guaranteed contract until the end of the 2023-24 season. He signed a huge five-year deal with the Warriors in 2019 that’s worth $189.9 million. This season, he is earning $37.98 million or equivalent to around ~884 BTC. As for Iguodala, he is playing on a one-year deal worth $2.641 million or ~61.5 BTC.
