Top Favorites To Win The 2019 US Open of Golf
The US Open takes place June 13-16 at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California. As the third major of the year approaches, Nitrogen Sports Blog takes a look at some of the US Open golf favorites this 2019.
Top 5 US Open golf favorites in 2019
1. Dustin Johnson (+800)
Johnson is the favorite to win the 2019 US Open, based on his US Open odds to win alone. A winner of the competition in 2016, he is still yet to win another major since. He most recently came in at second at the Masters and the PGA Championship and will be looking to end that run by winning the US Open Golf for a second time.
Despite his runner up-finishes, he is in good overall form this year with wins in Saudi Arabia and Mexico. In his most recent start, he finished 20th at the RBC Canadian Open.
2. Brooks Koepka (+880)
Koepka continued his solid major winning run by winning the 2019 PGA Championship last month. It only adds to his recent honors which include US Open wins in 2017 and 2018, as well as a PGA Championship last year.
Poised to win the US Open Golf for the third consecutive year in a row, which would make him the first to achieve the feat since Willie Anderson did
it in 1905, the PGA world No. 1 is easily one of the favorites at the upcoming at Pebble Beach.
3. Tiger Woods (+1100)
While many said that Woods, 43, was back before the Masters, nobody really expected him to go all the way and win it. However, that was exactly what happened as shockwaves were sent throughout the world of sport. Woods clearly has what it takes to win and bring back his glory days. Even when he’s not winning, though, he remains one of the most popular bets.
A winner of three US Open titles, Woods will look to do it again and he’s in decent form with a T9 finish at The Memorial since his memorable triumph at Augusta. Woods has four top 10 finishes in eight starts so far this season.
4. Jordan Spieth (+1975)
Spieth will be looking to win his first major since 2017. The three-time major winner finished the PGA Championship with a T3 finish last month. He followed it up with two top-10 finishes at Colonial and The Memorial and he seems to be in good form as he looks to win the US Open Golf for a second time.
He is a legitimate contender, per his US Open odds to win. The only question is if he can perform when it really matters down the stretch; after firing a 69 and 66 in the first two rounds of the PGA Tournament, he shot 72 and 71 in the final two rounds, respectively.
5. Justin Rose (+2475)
Rose is one of the most talented all-round golfers on the tour. The problem is he seems to underperform in the majors these days. He most recently missed the cut at the Masters and had a T29 finish at the PGA Championship last month.
However, he did have a T2 finish at last year’s Open Championship and his impressive win at Torrey Pines was not that long ago. And so, there’s always a chance the 38-year-old Louisville native could step it up and win a second US Open Golf crown.
Brooks Koepka has been a force this year. He’s become a beast on the course, as evidenced by his incredible run. If you want to ride Koepka’s hype train and bet on him, it might be helpful if you read some of our past posts about golf and how to bet on sports.
