Have a Look at the Top Scorers in the 2018-2019 Premier League

February 15, 2019 | Soccer Sports 18-19 Premier League Top Scorers

In 2019 there’s only one award more disputed in the Premier League than the title. The world’s best-attacking talent is gunning for the Golden Shoe award. Here, Nitrogen Sports Blog lists this season’s Premier League top scorers.

The 2019 Premier League top scorers (as of February 2019)

Mohamed Salah, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, and Eden Hazard look set to battle until the season’s end.

    Harry Kane

At 25 years old, Harry Kane is England’s captain. The striker has proven himself in every major competition.

Last summer, Kane was the World Cup’s top scorer. In Britain, he has won the Golden Boot twice. The forward has managed 14 goals this year.

But, Kane’s injury will leave him sidelined until early March. It’s ample time for his rivals to distance themselves.

    Mohamed Salah

Salah is the man who surprised many by stealing Harry Kane’s thunder last year, earning the top prize.

This season he is working to do the same. The Egyptian star leads the pack with 17 goals.

As things stand, Salah is the favorite to remain top scorer in 2019. He could also earn the title with Liverpool, the current Premier League leaders.

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been a revelation this season. Change in management at Arsenal has worked to his advantage.

Under Unai Emery, the former Dortmund striker has played great racking up 15 goals. A run of matches against teams such as Huddersfield, Southampton, and Bournemouth, could take the Gabonese player to first place by the month’s end.

    Eden Hazard

The biggest surprise could come courtesy of Eden Hazard. The Belgium maestro is a world-class talent and has racked up an impressive goal tally.

What has changed? Chelsea’s new manager Maurizio Sarri has placed Hazard in a more offensive position. And Hazard has adapted to his role right away. Yet, tough fixtures against Manchester City and United could signal a dry spell.

Speaking of form, count on Son Heung-Min and Aleksandar Mitrovic to make an impact in the following weeks.

Heung-Min is more than pulling his weight in the absence of Harry Kane. So is Mitrovic, who looks comfortable scoring in the Premier League. The Serb is one of the single positives in an otherwise dismal season for Fulham.

The fight for the Golden Boot is likely to go down to the wire. Premier League fans couldn’t ask for more.

Don’t discount Sergio Aguero, either. The striker is deadly from short range and has 17 goals to his name at the moment.
