Joey Chestnut Defending Title in Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Competition 2018
The 4th of July is Independence day in the U.S. But for Joey Chestnut, it’s the day he gets to raise the bar yet again during Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest. Chestnut will be defending his title once again as expected and the chances of him retaining his dominance is quite high.
Bet on 2018 Nathans Hot Dog Eating Contest
We saw signs of Chestnut slowing down when he lost against Matt Stonie during the same contest back in 2015, but took back the title a year later. He then broke his record again for the most hot dogs eaten in 10 minutes, raising it to 72 in 2017, reminding us that he’s still the top competitor in the scene and shows no sign of stopping.
But it’s tough competition for the champ. Matt Stonie is still a force to be reckoned with, determined to take back the title from Chestnut, and is living proof that he can be beaten. We also must not forget Carmen Cincotti, a strong contender showing consistency by taking second place during the competition in 2016 and in 2017.
In the women’s side of the competition, we have yet to see someone go toe-to-toe against Miki Sudo, the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest champion since 2014. She needs a good rival to push her. As she waits for that competition to arrive, he improves – her Hot Dog count has been raising since then, with her highest currently set at 41.
Will we see an upset this year? Or will we see Joey Chestnut or even Miki Sudo breaking records yet again on the 4th of July? Taking Chestnut, Sudo or The Field? Got predictions for number of hot dogs eaten? Place your bets today!
