Giannis Antetokounmpo injury & Hawks-Bucks Game 5 odds updates

Giannis Antetokounmpo injury, Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks wasted a grand opportunity to take a 3-1 series lead in Game 4, losing to the Trae Young-less Atlanta Hawks on the road, 110-88. But more than just that, the Bucks also got an entire bag of salt rip open over their open wounds, with Giannis Antetokounmpo going down with a knee injury that puts his availability not only for Game 5 but for the rest of the playoffs in great peril.

The Greek Freak was trying to secure a rebound when he landed in awkward manner in the third quarter. He grimaced in pain on the ground, while the entire Bucks nation held their collecting breath, hoping that it was not anything serious.

Antetokounmpo managed to walk on his own to the locker room before going back to the bench, to the relief of the Milwaukee faithful. However, he was eventually ruled out of the game.

As it stands, it appears that it’s higly unlikely for Giannis Antetokounmpo to play Thursday at home against Atlanta. But at least, the injury doesn’t seem to be anything that’s going to be a long-term problem for Antetokounmpo.

That’s as good of a news as any the Bucks could get about Giannis’ injury. While it’s not the best of times to not have Antetokounmpo, at least his knees are just going to be fine. The question only now is whether he could heal up just in time for Game 5.

With Antetkounmpo’s status for Game 5 (and even Game 6) uncertain, the Bucks will need their other two stars in Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton to step up and lead these Bucks, whose offensive and defensive loads would ratchet up moving forward in the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals.
