What to know about the New England Patriots

    • Head Coach Bill Belichick set up joint practices with the Patriots’ first two preseason opponents. He has personal connections to both head coaches. Lions head coach Matt Patricia is a former Patriots defensive coordinator, while Mike Vrabel played under Belchick for eight seasons.
    • Rookie WR N’Keal Harry left his preseason debut early after apparently injuring himself while making a leaping catch. He will most likely miss the remainder of the preseason but should be ready to go for Week 1.
    • Undrafted free agent Jakobi Meyers led the Patriots with six catches for 69 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the Detroit game.
    • Patriots vs Titans Week 2 stats preview for New England: The Pats averaged 27.7 points per game in 2018.

What to know about the Tennessee Titans

    • Marcus Mariota played one series in the Titans preseason opener. He should see more action against the Pats this week, though, there’s really no pressing need for that.Ryan Tannehill is slated to be his backup and he looked good in Tennessee’s 27-10 win in Philly, passing for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 12-for-16 completions. He could see the same workload together with Logan Woodside (15/20 for 138 passing yards, 2 touchdowns) against the Patriots.
    • The Titans’ 2019 rookie class is already banged up. First, they learned their top pick, Jeffery Simmons will miss the entire season due to a torn ACL. And then they were hit with the loss of linebacker Andre Walker. He will also have to wait until 2020 to make his NFL debut.
    • The Titans converted 11 out of 19 third down chances against the Eagles.
    • Patriots vs Titans Week 2 stats preview for the Tennessee: The Titans allowed 18.9 points per game in 2018.
