2019 NFL Parlay Week 8: Green Bay Packers vs Kansas City Chiefs
It’s unfortunate how Week 8’s game between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs will not feature a head-to-head meeting of Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. Instead, Rodgers, a sure-fire future Hall of Famer, will be facing off with a quarterback some may be surprised to learn is still in the NFL.
With or without Mahomes, all eyes will be on Packers vs. Chiefs, as both teams are still considered among the favorites to win the AFC title — and Super Bowl 54. Nitrogen Sports Blog takes a look at this Week 8 game of the 2019 NFL season.

What to know about the Green Bay Packers (6-1)
If you told us that Aaron Rodgers can walk on water, we’ll probably believe you after the performance he just put up in Week 7’s 42-24 win at home over the Oakland Raiders. Rodgers made a killing in that game, passing for five touchdowns and rushing for another score to lead the Packers to their third-straight victory.
Rodgers’ feat becomes even more impressive when considering the fact that he did not have his best weapon in the game, as Davante Adams remained out with a toe issue. Adams is expected to receive another questionable label ahead of the meeting with the Chiefs, but Rodgers seems to make things happen regardless of who his targets are.
What to know about the Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)
The Chiefs sure didn’t have a relaxing bye week in Week 7, as they spent most of it thinking how to survive for perhaps the next few weeks without superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who injured his knee in a 30-6 road win over the Denver Broncos.
For now, the Chiefs will have to rely on veteran Matt Moore, who had 117 passing yards and a touchdown, while going 10 of 19. Moore isn’t Mahomes. Andy Reid is going to have to alter his offensive game plan while Mahomes is out, and that would also likely mean a heavier workload for the Chiefs’ ground attack.
Fantasy Football spin
- The Chiefs are going to turn to their ground attack more with Mahomes out, so expect McCoy, Damien Williams, and Darrel Williams to get going.
- If Davante Adams misses another game, Rodgers will share the wealth among a group with unknown receivers like Jake Kumerow and Allen Lazard. The two wideouts are punt plays at best, but with how Rodgers has been playing of late, anybody on that Packers receiving corps are threats in the red zone.
- The Packers have won and covered the spread in all of their last three games away from Lambeau Field.
- The Chiefs have seen the total go OVER in three of their last four home games.
