Ravens vs Seahawks Week 7 game preview

Where: CenturyLink Field, Seattle
2019 NFL Odds: Baltimore Ravens (+3.5) vs.Seattle Seahawk (-3.5)
What to know about the Baltimore Ravens (4-2)
Are the Ravens over their malaise that had them losing back-to-back games in Weeks 3 and 4 to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns? That seems to be the case, as Lamar Jackson and company knocked out the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals since.
However, there can only be so much to be gleaned from beating teams that are going nowhere this season. If the Ravens want to make louder noises generated by anything other than the athletic prowess of Jackson, they will have to take down a notable squad, which they would get this coming Sunday in the form of the Seahawks.
Still, the Ravens will go as far as where Jackson takes them. The former Louisville Cardinals gunslinger had 236 passing yards and 152 rushing yards (with a rushing score) in the Ravens’ 23-17 home win over the Bengals in Week 6 to become the first player during the Super Bowl era to churn out over 200 passing yards and 150 rushing yards in a game during the regular season.
The Ravens have the second-best scoring offense in the league, as they are averaging 30.7 points per game.
What to know about the Seattle Seahawks (5-1)
The Seahawks are for real. And Russell Wilson is playing like he’s truly after that MVP award. In Week 6, Wilson and the Seahawks worked their magic against the Cleveland Browns to erase a 14-point deficit in the first quarter on their way into pulling off a 32-28 come-from-behind road victory.
While that game probably told more about how bad things are in Cleveland, Seattle’s determination shouldn’t, in any way, be downplayed. Wilson went 23 for 33 for 295 passing yards and two touchdowns without an interception. In addition, he rushed for 31 yards and a score. Running back Chris Carson blasted his way through the Browns’ defense for 124 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Seattle’s ground game could be slowed by the Ravens’ run defense that’s ranked fourth in the NFL, but Wilson’s precision should give Baltimore reasons to sweat bullets. The Ravens have one of the worst pass defenses this season, while Wilson is one of the best passers in the league today. On the season, Wilson has 1,704 passing yards and 14 touchdowns with zero interceptions.
Fantasy Football spin
- Ravens tight end Mark Andrews wrapped his fantasy owners with a nice gift last Sunday, as he had 99 receiving yards on six receptions and eight targets. He could have another productive outing in Week 7, as Seattle is giving up the fourth-most standard fantasy points to tight ends per game this season.
- Rookie wide receiver DK Metcalf is the No. 1 go to guy by Russell Wilson in passing plays in the red zone, as he’s been targeted eight times inside the 20-yard line this year. He’ll face next Baltimore’s defense that’s only 17th in the league in defensive red zone touchdown percentage.
- The OVER is 3-0 in the Ravens’ last three road games.
- The Ravens are 7-3 SU in their last 10 games.
- The Seahawks are 7-3 SU in their last 10 home games.
- The OVER is 8-2 in the Seahawks’ last 10 games.
