NFC West 2019 Preview
The NFC West division was where the conference’s representative in Super Bowl 53 came from. That’s the Los Angeles Rams, who are the unquestioned team to beat in the NFC West once again entering the new season.
Will the Rams sustain their success in the division? Nitrogen Sports Blog breaks down the division in this NFC West preview for the 2019 campaign.
NFC West 2019: The Rams are the overwhelming favorites
Los Angeles Rams (-200)
The Los Angeles Rams dominated NFC West divisional play in 2018. They battered the rest of the NFC West on the way to a perfect 6-0 division record.
They ultimately came up just shy of their goal when they lost to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 53. And with a loaded roster under the watch of offensive guru Sean McVay, there is no reason the Rams won’t be competing for the Vince Lombardi Trophy this 2019.
The Rams’ talented and deep receiving corps will give teams coverage problems. And quarterback Jared Goff certainly has the skill set to capitalize on his elite weapons downfield.

An improved defense, could put the Rams over the edge. Aaron Donald is a stalwart on the Rams defense, but a couple of new additions will help to keep opposing teams off the board. They added Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle.
NFC West 2019: Russell Wilson and the Seahawks lurk in the shadows
Seattle Seahawks (+285)
The 2018 NFL season ended early for the Seahawks. They were knocked off 24-22 by the Dallas Cowboys. But the Pete Carrol led squad is still dangerous.
The Seahawks got some of the most efficient quarterback play in the NFL last season. And Russell Wilson is only getting better. He’s coming off his second straight Pro Bowl and a career-high passer rating.
Confident behind their signal-caller, the Seahawks will be on a mission to overtake the Rams in 2019.
Expect the Seahawks to continue their old school, smashmouth style in 2019. Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny form a solid backfield duo. Seattle’s top wide receiver, Doug Baldwin is hanging up the cleats, but the team has Tyler Lockett ready to step up.
Plus, rookie receiver DK Metcalf gives the team a potential physical stud. He will not only be able outrun the opposition, he’ll also look to impose his massive size on smaller defensive backs.

Arizona Cardinals (+2700)
The Arizona Cardinals went out and make a big splash during the offseason. They traded away quarterback Josh Rosen, their previous top pick. Then, they drafted two-sport star Kyler Murray, with the first-overall pick in the draft.
The move was a bit shocking because they gave up on Rosen so fast. But also because Kyler Murray has been panned as undersized and a potential bust. That said, Murray has amazing playmaking abilities and could blend perfectly with dynamic running back David Johnson.
The Los Angeles Rams fell flat on their faces in Super Bowl 53, but for the most part of the 2018 NFL season, they looked like the team to beat in the entire league.
They will look to rinse the taste of that Super Bowl setback off their mouth this year, as they remain the favorite to not only the NFC West but also the conference.
