LSU has something to prove when it faces Alabama in what could be a playoff preview. If the Tigers want to keep the top spot, they’ll have to go through the world-beating Alabama Crimson Tide. But the Tigers haven’t beaten Alabama since head coach Ed Oregon has been at the helm.
QuarterbackJoe Burrow is looking to bolster his Heisman Trophy candidacy, and replace the guy on the other sideline as the top pro prospect. But he’ll have his hands full against perhaps the top defense in college football.
The Tigers will need their own defense at full strength, but their secondary might not be at 100% come Saturday. Safety Grant Delpit and cornerback Derek Stingley have been dealing with injuries but are hopeful to play against the Crimson Tide.

Nick Saban once coached LSU. Since then he’s built what could be the greatest dynasty in sports. Tua Tagovailoa is listed as questionable for what could be the biggest regular season game of the season. With so much on the line, it’s hard to imagine Tua not taking the snaps for the Crimson Tide this week.
It if he doesn’t go, either Mac Jones or Taulia Tagovailoa will have to fill his shoes. A key for Tua and Alabama will be the offensive line. The Crimson Tide can boast a dominant line and have only given up nine sacks all year.
According to the Associated Press, the Crimson Tide are no longer the top team. They’ll probably be entering the game with a chip on their shoulders looking to show they’re still the team to beat.
