Jaguars QB Nick Foles ruled out of game vs. Chiefs with shoulder injury
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Nick Foles over the offseason in hopes of stabilizing their quarterback position after running out of patience with Blake Bortles. Foles looked like what the Jags bargained for in free agency early in their Week 1 assignment against the Chiefs but that was until he suffered an injury that forced him out of the contest for good, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Before exiting the game, Foles found rookie wide receiver DJ Chark for a sensational touchdown strike, though, any excitement brought to Jags fans by that play quickly faded following the news of the quarterback’s injury.
The Jaguars are now using first-year quarterback Gardner Minshew in lieu of Foles, who finished the day with 75 passing yards and a touchdown on 5-for-8 completions.
With Foles out and a rookie QB under center, expect running back Leonard Fournette to have a heavier load on offense at least for the Kansas City game.
