What to know about the Iowa Hawkeyes (2-0)

Iowa totally smothered Rutgers on the way to a 30 to nothing shutout in their Week 2 matchup. Rutgers simply could not move the ball against Iowa after putting up 48 points in their previous game.
On offense, the Hawkeyes have been sharp as well. QB Nate Stanley gives Iowa a dependable and dangerous weapon. He’s been his efficient and effective self through the first couple of games. On defense, Iowa held Rutgers to only 125 total yards.
The Hawkeyes secondary is beat up. Kaevon Merriweather is questionable for Week 3 with a foot injury. DBs Matt Hankins and Geno Stone are questionable after leaving last game with a leg injuries. OL Alaric Jackson will also miss a few weeks after suffering a knee injury.

Iowa State edged Northern Iowa 29-26 in OT in their season opener. After the thrilling week 1 win, the Cyclones had a bye week and plenty of time to prepare for their rivals, the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Head coach Matt Campbell is a big fan of the week 2 bye. The Cyclone offense will need to take advantage of the prep time if they want to beat the Hawkeyes. The 5 returning seniors on the Cyclone offensive line will have to shoulder a tough task. Also, can QB Brock Purdperform against the speedy Iowa defense? He is currently 278 yards and 2 touchdowns this season.
OL Colin Newell is dealing with a right knee sprain. He is questionable for week 3 against Iowa. RB Kene Nwangwu is questionable for week three due to a shoulder injury.
