What to know about the Clemson Tigers (2-0)

Clemson vs Syracuse 2019 NCAAF Week 3 moneyline odds for the Crimson Tide: TBA
Clemson just passed a tough test at home last week. The Tigers defeated the Texas A&M Aggies, 24-10. The win extends Clemson’s undefeated streak to 17.

Prior to the game, there had been some chatter about Lawrence not living up to the expectations he created for himself last season. But Lawrence was able to fire off some effortless touchdown passes to get some of the critics off his back.

The Clemson defense was also able to silence Texas A&M’s QB. Last year Kellen Mond had a career day when he faced Clemson. He piled up 430 yards and three touchdowns in a loss. This year, Clemson was in his face early and often. The Tigers stymied Mond and held the Aggies to only 10 points.

Also, LB Bryton Constantin missed the team’s first two games with a knee injury. His status for Week 3 is not certain.

What to know about the Syracuse Orange (1-1)

Clemson vs Syracuse 2019 NCAAF Week 3 moneyline odds for the Orange: TBA
Syracuse was hammered by Maryland in the Orange’s second game of the season. Maryland was able to dominate up front and Syracuse was trailing big by halftime.

Ultimately, they took an embarrassing 63-20 road loss and it’s not looking like things are set to be better for them with the reigning national champions visiting Syracuse this coming weekend.

If Syracuse wants to have a better showing against the Clemson powerhouse, the Orange need the offensive line to put up a more acceptable performance after allowing four sacks to Marland.

DT Kenneth Ruff’s status is uncertain due to a leg injury. TE Jesse Conners is out until the end of September with a broken collarbone.

    Betting trends

    • Clemson is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games on the road.
    • Syracuse is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home.

And just like that, we’re already in the 2019 NCAAF Week 3. It’s still too early to tell which teams are going to the College Football Playoff, but Clemson vs Syracuse could be a trap for the Tigers. A loss to Syracuse will definitely cause a big shift in the AP Poll rankings.
