What to know about the Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos vs. Cleveland Browns betting odds for Denver: +3

Neither home-field advantage nor dysfunction in their opponents’ coaching staff was enough to prevent the Denver Broncos from losing their Week 6 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, 34-24. After a 3-0 start, Denver has now lost three straight with the spike in competition over those last three outings proving to be too much for Vic Fangio’s boys from Mile High.

The Broncos’ defense allowed just 8.6 points per game in their first three games against the Giants, Jaguars, and Jets. Since then, the Ravens, Steelers, and Raiders have put up an average of 28 points per game. As such, their supposedly stout D must be able to stop a Cleveland offense lacking a good number of its top weapons (more on the Browns’ situation below).

Elsewhere, Teddy Bridgewater and the offense also have to rediscover chemistry that was present early into their campaign. Although Bridgewater completed 34 of his 49 pass attempts for 334 passing yards and three touchdowns, he did also throw three costly interceptions and lost a fumble to be held accountable for all four of Denver’s turnovers in Week 6.

What to know about the Cleveland Browns

Denver Broncos vs. Cleveland Browns betting odds for Cleveland: -3

The Cleveland Browns faced the hottest team in the league in Week 6 and crumbled under pressure, as the Arizona Cardinals spoiled the party in the Dawg Pound by way of a 37-14 win to remain the only undefeated team left in the NFL this season.

After a 42-point explosion the week prior in a tight loss to the Chargers, the Browns have now to put up just 14 points for the second time in three games. Baker Mayfield was rendered rather inept, with the former first-overall pick going 19-of-28 for 234 passing yards, two TD passes, and one INT. Mayfield failed to get the passing game going without a running game, as Cleveland mustered up just 73 rushing yards on 19 carries against the Cards.

More bad news from the Browns camp comes in the form of the calf injury sustained by running back Kareem Hunt, who’s now expected to miss several weeks. Hunt now joins stud back Nick Chubb (calf as well) on the injury list, eliminating Cleveland’s top two offensive weapons. It’s also unfortunate that the team has to play on a short week, as perhaps Chubb would’ve been more ready to suit up on a Sunday rather than this Thursday’s primetime showdown.

What’s your Denver Broncos vs. Cleveland Browns Week 7 prediction?

Both the Browns and Broncos are reeling, as their respective strengths have suddenly become their weaknesses. In turn, this Week 7 TNF clash can go either way. Unless either Chubb or Hunt is cleared to play on Thursday, the Broncos might actually have the slight edge to bounce back with a huge road victory.
