Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Week 15 Game Preview

Where: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh
2019 NFL Odds: Buffalo Bills (+1.5) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (-1.5)

What to know about the Buffalo Bills (9-4)

After scoring a win in Arlington in Week 13 against the Dallas Cowboys that further proved they are more contenders than pretenders, the Bills got whacked the following week by Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, 24-17.

The Bills simply could not slow down Jackson, who tossed three touchdowns against them. Jackson is not an MVP candidate for nothing, but the Bills should have an easier time dealing with the opposing quarterback in Week 15, as the Steelers have a largely unproven man under center in Devlin Hodges. The Bills are averaging 21.1 points per game. The Bills like to run, which is why they have an average of 222.5 rushing yards per game.

What to know about the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-5)

The Steelers are not giving up on their chase for a playoff berth. Despite fielding a team without their best running back and having a third-string quarterback, the Steelers have been able to win all of their last three games. In Week 14, they defeated the Arizona Cardinals on the road, 23-17.

In addition, they’ve gone 6-1 SU in their last seven games. The Bills are going to be a big test for the Steelers, but they could be getting a boost with James Conner reportedly expected to be back on the field in Week 15. Conner has missed the Steelers’ last three games due to a shoulder issue, leaving Pittsburgh to ride on a running back by committee composed mainly of Benny Snell and Jaylen Samuel. The Steelers are averaging 19.9 points per game.

Fantasy Football spin

  • Bills veteran wide receiver Cole Beasley has found the end zone in each of Buffalo’s last three games. Allen clearly trusts Beasley, who’s caught all seven red-zone targets he’s gotten so far this season.
  • Although Conner is expected to be back, Jaylen Samuels owners should keep the backup running back on their rosters, as there remains a possibility that Conner will not play.

Betting trends

  • The Bills have gone 3-1 ATS in their last four games.
  • The Under is 5-0 in the Steelers’ last five games.
