Cowboys vs Patriots Week 12 game preview

When: Sunday, November 18, 2019, 4:25 PM ET
    Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxboro
2019 NFL Odds: Dallas Cowboys (+6) vs. New England Patriots (-6)

What to know about the Dallas Cowboys (6-4)

The Cowboys got away with a win in Week 11, defeating the Detroit Lions on the road to bounce back from a letdown loss to the Minnesota Vikings at home in Week 10. Dak Prescott went off in torching the Lions’ defense, passing for 444 yards and three touchdowns. That despite the fact that Amari Cooper was seemingly defended well, as the wide receiver was only held down to only 38 yards on three catches.

Michael Gallup and a rejuvenated Randall Cobb both carried most of the load downfield with 148 and 115 receiving yards respectively. Having so many weapons stepping up and making plays in the passing attack will be a big key for Dallas in solving New England’s stout defense.

What to know about the New England Patriots (9-1)

How the Patriots’ defeated the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday wasn’t pretty overall, but they nevertheless got the job done to take home a 17-10 victory in Philly. Tom Brady didn’t play like Tom Brady, converting just 26 of 47 passes and wasn’t able to find a teammate in the end zone. Instead, the Pats relied on their defense to get them back from an early 10-0 deficit.

Putting the clamps on Prescott and the Cowboys’ air and ground attack that’s led by Zeke Elliott is going to be an arduous task for the Patriots, but they have always proven (except for that loss to the Baltimore Ravens) this season that they can stifle anything their opponents throws at them.

    Fantasy Football spin

    • Tony Pollard remains a mere backup and insurance for Ezekiel Elliott, but Dallas could be forced to give him more involvement in the offense after catching four passes and turning them into 44 yards and a touchdown against the Lions.
    • Rex Burkhead is an inconsistent fantasy asset, which typically is the case in the Pats’ backfield, but if you’re hurting for a flex guy that’s probably on the waiver wire, he’s someone you can consider.

    Betting trends

    • The Cowboys are 2-0 ATS in their last two games away from Arlington.
    • The Patriots have covered the spread in five of their last six games.
