The three teams likely to qualify for Epicenter at StarLadder

    June 10, 2019 | Esports Dota 2 Mineski

The last minor of the Dota season is upon us, with eight teams ready to battle it out for a place at the Epicenter major and earn the all-important DPC points. However, there are three teams which stand above the rest at this tournament. Here is why they are likely to be among the teams to qualify for Epicenter at the StarLadder minor. Nitrogen Sports Blog takes a look at each of them below.

    EHOME

Formerly a Dota powerhouse, EHOME is once again having to fight their way through the minor. EHOME have recently suffered a run of bad luck, with Faith_bian fracturing his arm during a photoshoot, forcing a temporary replacement. In the past few weeks, they’ve gone through huge changes, picking up three new players. It seems to be working well, with the team storming the qualifiers without losing a single game, and even beating Team Serenity, who are also featured at the tournament. If EHOME can keep up momentum, they will have no trouble making it as among the teams to qualify for Epicenter.

    Ninjas in Pyjamas

After a disappointing showing at ESL One Birmingham, Ninjas in Pyjamas will want to make an impact at the StarLadder minor. They had no problems in the qualifiers, losing no games and dropping just 1 map. Facing less difficult competition here, NiP stands as one of the favorites at this tournament. The only non-European on the team, American ppd, seems to be more comfortable in his leading role than ever. NiP will be able to secure a good placing if they keep calm and play their own game, out-skilling their opponents.

    Mineski

Mineski comes into the minor as the only Southeast-Asian team there. Mineski were most recently able to come away with a second-place finish at ESL One Mumbai, back in April. Since then, they’ve had major success online, with an easy run at the StarLadder qualifiers. They’ve proven themselves skillful enough to beat teams such as Na’Vi and TNC Predator. In the past, they’ve gone head to head with Team Secret and won. Mineski have played with remarkable consistency recently. If they avoid mistakes, Mineski will be able to easily take out the lesser-skilled teams at this minor and secure their spot at the major, as part of the group of teams to qualify for Epicenter.

The squads mentioned above each have a great chance of successfully becoming among the teams to qualify for Epicenter at StarLadder. There are no sureshots in the world of Esports, but based on recent resume and team strengths, it’s not hard to see why many are high on EHOMEm Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Mineski.
