What to know about Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury betting odds for Fury: -280

Tyson Fury knew well that he’d have to change up his style in his rematch against Wilder. After the first encounter ended in a draw with the pride of Manchester opting for a more methodical pace, Fury came out guns blazing in the second fight and it paid off for him as his record improved to 30-0-1 lifetime.

It’ll be interesting to see if The Gypsy King will be as aggressive as he was during last year’s rematch. Fury is aware that if he predictably goes in hard against his opponent as he did in the rematch, that Wilder could easily catch him with a powerful right hand. That being said, expect the pound-for-pound bruiser to have a more well-rounded game to cover all bases this Saturday.

However, it’s also well worth knowing that Fury tested positive for COVID-19, which further delayed this massive showdown that fight fans have been waiting for. Fury could potentially not have as much energy heading into the fight at that, which would probably explain why the odds aren’t entirely in his favor. Then again, Wilder was the favorite to win the rematch and yet the burly Brit needed just seven rounds to outclass his rival.

What to know about Deontay Wilder

Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury betting odds for Wilder: +210

All the talk and excuses are over for Deontay Wilder, who suffered his first defeat as a professional boxer against Tyson Fury in last year’s rematch.

The 35-year-old ‘Bama native’s post-fight antics following that loss just added even more fuel to the fire of this rivalry, from claiming that his drinking water was spiked during the fight, to the costume that he wore before entering the ring being too heavy. Regardless of the countless bickering, Wilder was widely regarded as the best heavyweight boxer in the world, having 13 more wins than Fury before having his 42-fight unbeaten streak snapped.

Wilder’s been more reserved with his commentary leading up to the fight, meaning that his focus is back to the real task at hand: recapturing the WBC heavyweight belt. He’s probably also warned his team to literally never throw in the towel this time around, as the stoppage during the rematch that he had no say in stopping except for his co-trainer, still weighs heavily on his shoulders.

What’s your Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3 fight prediction?

From what we’ve seen in the first two fights, it’s understandable that Fury gets the edge odds-wise in Saturday’s final showdown. On the other hand, Wilder has as much to lose if not more than Fury at this point of his career. If Wilder can match his drive with his phenomenal in-ring skills and forget about all the banter, he’s certainly capable of toppling England’s favorite child and bring the heavyweight title back to the US of A.
