There are a lot of great fights lined up for the second half of 2018 for both boxing and mixed martial arts. Two fights stand out as ones to look out for, as they’re both long-awaited rematches.

T.J. Dillashaw gives Cody Garbrandt another shot as they head back into the octagon for UFC 227, while in boxing, Gennady “GGG” Golovkin takes on Saul “Canelo” Alvarez to settle the score after that draw decision in their fight last year.

In November, after a long feud between Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw, they finally squared off for the UFC Bantamweight title. It was a close fight with Garbrandt showing potential in round 1, but the tables turned in the second as T.J. Dillashaw landed a perfect right hook, giving him the opening he needed to end the match and take back the Bantamweight title, effectively giving Garbrandt his first career loss.

Now, the rematch between these two fighters is a go in UFC 227 and is scheduled for August 4. Based on their last match, anything can happen between the two. The first round in UFC 217 from Garbrandt displayed his effectiveness to stop Dillashaw in his tracks. Dillashaw is as prepared and confident as ever and it all depends on if Garbrandt can finish it this time around if the opportunity shows itself.

The first match ended in a draw back in 2017. Many considered it a bizarre conclusion to an amazing fight between two world-class boxers. GGG was composed as he landed flurry after flurry, but on the other side Canelo was equally poised with his effective combos. The series of combination punches by both fighters marked this as one of the most entertaining boxing matches last year.

The rematch is set for September 15.
