What to know about the Minnesota Timberwolves (2-1)

Timberwolves vs. Bucks  betting odds for Minnesota: TBA

It’s been a good start so far for Minnesota, notwithstanding the team’s 107-98 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans at home last Monday. The Timberwolves won their first two games of the season before losing to the Pelicans, whom Minnesota beat on Oct .23, 96-89. Minnesota’s been surprisingly good defensively thus far this season.

The Timberwolves were second-worst last season in scoring defense, with 117.7 points allowed per game, but this season, they are seventh with just 100.7 points surrendered per outing. Moreover, Timberwolves opponents are just shooting 41.7% from the field and 29.1% from the 3-point region. The trio of Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and D’Angelo Russell is shining and spells trouble for a Milwaukee team that’s letting opponents score 115.2 points per game.

What to know about the Milwaukee Bucks (3-1)

Timberwolves vs. Bucks  betting odds for Milwaukee: TBA

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have regained their momentum again after getting ripped apart by the Miami Heat in a 137-95 loss on the road. Since then, the Bucks have gone 2-0 with wins over the San Antonio Spurs (121-111) and against the Indiana Pacers (119-109) to finish their three-game road trip. Now back at home, where they won their season-opener against the Brooklyn Nets, 127-104,  the Bucks aim to keep the winning streak going. In the Pacers game, Antetokounmpo led the defending NBA champs with 30 points, while Khris Middleton dropped 27 more.

Grayson Allen continues to be a pleasant surprise, as he put up 19 points.  The Bucks need Allen to sustain his great form, with Jrue Holiday still out with a left ankle sprain. Still, the tandem of Antetokounmpo and Middleton is good enough to carry the Bucks against Minnesota, which hasn’t faced a team that made the playoffs last season to date.

Timberwolves vs. Bucks betting trends

  • The Timberwolves are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games on the road.
  • The Bucks are 6-0 ATS in their last six games at home.

What’s your Timberwolves vs. Bucks prediction?

This will be the first true test for the Timberwolves, who, as mentioned earlier, have not faced a 2020-21 playoff team so far this season. The Bucks will be tough to beat at home, with or without Holiday. But with a fully engaged KAT plus the rapid growth of Anthony Edwards, this Timberwolves team won’t surprise many if they at least pull off a cover in this game.
