What to know about the Chicago Bulls (25-35)

Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat betting odds for Chicago: +4

Despite a late second-half rally, the Chicago Bulls still fell to the Miami Heat Saturday, 106-101, for the Bulls’ seventh loss over their last 10 games.

The Bulls got fantastic performances out of its two best active players in Coby White (game-high 31 points) and Nikola Vucevic (26 points, 14 rebounds). Unfortunately, no other Chicago player scored in double digits during the loss, which goes to show that the team sorely needs All-Star Zach LaVine back in the starting five. LaVine has been out since April 14 after testing positive for COVID-19 and his timetable for a return is still up in the air.

Time’s running out for the Bulls, who are now two games behind the Wizards for 10th place in the East as the final entrant for the play-in tournament. Thankfully, they outscored Miami by 25 points in the second half of Saturday’s loss, proving that they’re not going down without a fight despite LaVine’s absence.

What to know about the Miami Heat (32-29)

Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat betting odds for Miami: -4

The Miami Heat certainly needed that victory over the Bulls considering they were blown out by the Hawks by 15 points the night before. Saturday’s win puts the Heat three games above .500 and at a tie with the Celtics for the No. 6 seed in the East.

Four of Miami’s starters scored 20 or more points, with Duncan Robinson leading the way with his 23 points and seven three-pointers. Kendrick Nunn also dropped 22 points, while main attractions Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo finished with 20 points apiece.

The Heat now have a chance to sweep Chicago in their three scheduled meetings this season, and odds are in their favor seeing that they’ve won four of their last five games. And as we’ll see in the betting trends section below, Erik Spoelstra’s crew also has the edge over the Bulls entering this Monday’s showdown.
