What to know about the Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets betting odds for Milwaukee: -4

A sudden twist of fate during Game 4 between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets turned out to be a blessing of sorts for the former, who won on Sunday, 107-96, to even up the series at two games apiece.

Milwaukee superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 12 of his game-high 34 points in the third quarter and taking full advantage of the suddenly underhanded Nets (more on that situation below). Khris Middleton also continued his hot shooting streak since returning to his home floor with 54 points and six three-pointers over the past two games.

Above all else, the Bucks have also rediscovered their defensive prowess, becoming the only team this season to hold Brooklyn to under 100 points in back-to-back contests. Considering the Nets’ injury woes, a third-consecutive lockdown effort could be in line for Giannis and Co.

What to know about the Brooklyn Nets

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets betting odds for Brooklyn: +4

The Brooklyn Nets’ Big Three is now down to one healthy man again, as Kyrie Irving suffered an ankle sprain after landing awkwardly on Antetokounmpo’s foot in the second quarter of Game 4.

With James Harden still on the shelf with his own hamstring issues, Kevin Durant had to lift the Nets on his back to mixed results. Durant scored 28 points and hauled in 13 rebounds but shot just 9-of-25 from the floor. What’s worse is that he had little to no help in the scoring department, as Irving finished behind him for the night with 11 points despite playing less than half of Sunday night’s contest.

While not having Irving for Game 5 is a huge blow, the Nets have proven to have won with less throughout the entire season. They’ll have to take better care of the ball, however, as they committed 17 turnovers that led to 25 easy points for Milwaukee.

What’s your Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets Game 5 prediction?

There’s no denying how big of an impact Irving’s absence is for the Bucks’ odds of winning Game 5. That being said, the Nets do still possess a former league MVP at the forefront of its attack in Durant, leaving open the possibility of a Nets upset; let alone cover the spread at home where they’ve been phenomenal all season long.
