2019 PGA Tour Sanderson Farms Championship Tournament Purse and Payout Breakdown

September 18, 2019 | Sports Brandt Snedeker PGA Tour 2019

The second leg of the 2019-20 PGA Tour season will be in Mississippi, where the newest edition of the Sanderson Farms Championship will occur in the coming weekend. Most of the big boys (Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Thomas, etc.) will not be there to compete, but there’s enough talent in the field to make things interesting.

While the Sanders Farms Championship is not on the same level of the Masters or any of the other major tournaments, it still brandishes a sizeable purse upwards of $6-million worth of PGA Tour payout this 2019. Nitrogen Sports Blog takes a look at the past purses of this tournament and reveals its current top prize.

Here’s what we know as of this writing: the total PGA Tour payout for the 2019 Sanderson Farms Championship is $6.6 million. That’s a big step up from the $4.4 million total that the participants split among themselves, including the $792,000 that Cameron Champ pocketed a year ago when he topped the 2018 version of the tournament.

In fact, the purse at the Sanderson Farms Championship has gradually increased in each of the last six years. Back in 2013, the total purse was only at $3 million before jumping to $4 million (2014), $4.1 million (2015), $4.2 million (2016), and to $4.3 million in 2017.

The detailed breakdown of the purse for this year’s Sanderson Farms Championship has yet to be released, but for comparison, here’s how the committee distributed the money in 2018.
