What to know about the Phoenix Suns

Phoenix Suns vs. LA Clippers betting odds for Phoenix: TBA

Turns out that the return of Chris Paul was a double-edged sword for the Phoenix Suns, who fell to the LA Clippers on Thursday night, 106-92.

Paul, who’s been sidelined for the first two games of the Western Conference Finals due to COVID, returned in Phoenix’s starting five that evening and finished with a solid double-double of 15 points and 12 assists. Unfortunately, top-scorer Devin Booker cooled off with just 15 points and failed to recapture his scoring prowess in Game 1, wherein he finished with a 40-point triple-double.

The Suns looked lost with their original floor general back on the court, as they shot a combined 38.9 percent from the field in Game 3 after making over half of their shots on the floor in each of the first two games of the series. With the extra day of preparation prior to Game 4, perhaps head coach Monty Williams can get his team back on the same page and shooting at the torrential pace that they’re known for.

What to know about the LA Clippers

Phoenix Suns vs. LA Clippers betting odds for LA: TBA

The LA Clippers weren’t envious whatsoever with the return of one of Phoenix’s key players whilst still waiting for their own star to return. Instead, the Clips were once again carried by the other half of their formidable duo.

Paul George redeemed himself in Game 3 with 27 points and 15 rebounds two days after choking away a possible Game 2 victory due to a couple of missed free throws. George knocked down six of his seven attempts from the stripe in Game 3 as the Clips powered their way to a victory thanks to a strong scoring push in the third quarter.

LA, which is still awaiting the return of Kawhi Leonard (knee), got better contributions from its role players on Thursday as well. Ivica Zubac also had a double-double of 15 points and 16 boards, while Reggie Jackson dropped 23 on the Suns on 9-of-17 shooting from the field. Players such as Zubac and Jackson must keep up with PG13’s intensity to all but guarantee a series-tying victory ahead.

What’s your Phoenix Suns vs. LA Clippers Game 4 prediction?

The Suns proved to be beatable after their poor showing in Game 3, whereas the Clippers have gotten their groove at the right time like they’ve done so being slow starters for much of this postseason. That being said, bets for this blockbuster showdown will likely hinge on bettors either sold on Phoenix’s continued regression with Paul back in the lineup or the exact opposite.
