NFL Survivor Pool Stories After Week 15
To borrow a line from Doctor Strange: “We’re in the endgame now.” The 2019 NFL regular season is about to conclude. In just a couple of weeks, the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals can rest their banged-up bodies and bruised egos while the likes of the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints will begin preparation for the looming playoffs. As for Nitrogen Sports’ NFL survivor pools, the field is getting thinner with just 10 active entries remaining across the board. Will we see some winners emerge again in Week 16?

After 15 long weeks, all secret pools have finally found their winners, with the last one coming from the Second Chance Pool. The lucky winner is User 5080207, who had the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. The Chiefs didn’t give 5080207 much to worry about, as they zoomed to an early lead and never looked back in their 23-3 win at home over the Denver Broncos.
The Second Chance Pool entered Week 15 with two survivors, but the other one had the misfortune of seeing the San Francisco 49ers got beat by a game-winning touchdown by Atlanta Falcons superstar receiver Julio Jones.
Free Pool unloads more entries
From 10 entries in Week 13 to four in Week 14, the Free Pool saw another set of losses with two more eliminated entries following the Week 15 games. The two remaining users (5090223 and 4949566) picked the Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a good time to ride on the Bucs in Week 15, as Jameis Winston and company had been rolling, with three wins in a row heading into their matchup with the Detroit Lions last Sunday. With two weeks left in the 2019 NFL regular season, it’s now basically a starting contest between the two remaining survivors.
The Captain Pool is also now just a two-man game, as one of the three survivors following Week 14 is now out of the competition, and that user has the 49ers’ goal-line defense to blame for it .The other two extended their lives in the pool by taking the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints.
The Pats had some shaky moments in the first half of their game last Sunday against the one-win Cincinnati Bengals before breaking in the final two quarters. The Saints, meanwhile, walloped the Indianapolis Colts on the strength of Drew Brees’ historic performance.
Some games to look forward to in Week 16
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles
The Cowboys and the Eagles are dead even atop the standings of the NFC East, though, Dallas holds the tiebreaker since they defeated Philly at home in Week 7. The Eagles have a chance to take that tiebreaker advantage away from Dallas and the solo lead in the division with a win this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings have a golden opportunity to tie the Packers for the best record in the NFC North and even out their head-to-head series this season, as they will play Aaron Rodgers and company at home on Monday. The Packers won the first matchup in Week 2 at Lambeau Field, 21-16. The Vikings could be without running back Dalvin Cook, who’s dealing with a shoulder injury.
